Balkan Football League (BFL)
Balkan Football League (BFL)
The Balkan Football League is a regional American football competition that brings together teams from across the Balkans with the mission to promote, develop, and grow the sport in this part of Europe. It was founded out of a shared desire to connect clubs across borders, raise the level of competition, and offer more opportunities for players to showcase their skills, teamwork, and love for the game.
BFL currently features teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Bulgaria, with past seasons including clubs from Croatia, Slovenia, and Romania. Despite limited funding, the league thrives thanks to the dedication of the clubs, coaches, and volunteers who give it their all every season.
Beyond competition, BFL represents cross-border cooperation, sportsmanship, and respect, showing that American football not only belongs on the Balkan fields — it’s growing here, with passion and purpose.
Every game is more than just a score — it’s a step forward for a sport and a community that refuses to quit.
